My Father values education and he always thought me this: "Lifelong learning, 活到老 学到老。"
He always say if I want something then find a way to get it and most of the time the plan to get it, involves learning. It does not matter if at the beginning you don't have the skills, are inferior to others and that sometimes you don't have a definitive plan.
I still remember after graduating from JC I really would love to venture in the Western country, so he asked me to first of all learn the language. I didn't have a definitive plan back then but by going to a french school thrice a week created a routine to remind me of my goal and to eventually create my next steps.
He also told me the the importance of investing in learning to make it all worthwhile and put it into action. For example, I really wanted to be in Chinese Orchestra and then he bought me a ZhongRuan and with endless practice (and fingers bleeding) eventually I managed to be a principle player in the orchestra.
We often have dreams, like being an entrepreneur/having a desired jobs, having a big house, being able to excel at a certain sports but we limit ourselves with the thought that it is impossible. However most of the times, you can turn these dreams into projects; write down your goals & priorities, have a plan with a specific timeline, invest on learning and actually do it!
Despite my papa being crazy disciplined, I'm blessed to have my brain indoctrinated how to exit from roadblock, which is by learning. This mindset actually allows me to think that everything can be possible as long as I am willing to learn & put my heart into doing it. So try thinking that way because the only way to do things is to actually do it and you can take the first step by simply learning something!
